Data Engineer
|
This position will represent industry best practices for billing data and analysis and will play a strategic role in Globys customer implementations for some of the largest telecoms in the world including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The Data Analyst will provide technical leadership in the application of specialized application engineering concepts, business analysis acumen, and software development principles for components of Globys Implementation projects. The Implementation process involves the transformation of customer specific billing data and e-billing reporting requirements into a standard Globys product application configuration and data structure. This role will participate in the analysis of customer billing data, determination of the mapping between customer data and Globys application requirements, and implementation and testing of the necessary mapping software. This role will interface directly with technical peers at the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Apply software development principles, concepts and techniques with a focus on business analysis, requirements definition, application configuration, and data mapping translation specifications for customer product implementations
- Translate the customer's billing data requirements into Globys configuration specifications
- Apply specialized knowledge of telecommunications billing information in the development of data mapping specifications for the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of customer data into a Globys product data model
- Write software to reformat customer data to Globys application input requirements
- Work closely with external customer project teams, internal implementation teams, core development, quality assurance, operations and customer care in conjunction with the Program, Project and Account Managers
- Troubleshoot implementation incident issues and recommend appropriate action within guidelines relative to assigned tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant work experience
- Three plus years of software development experience with a focus in C#, Microsoft .net, and SQL Server
- One to two years of business and/or technical lead experience
- Works well independently and within a team structure
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analysis skills
- Detail oriented and thorough
- Ability to travel (approximately 10%)
- Experience in Internet software applications.
- Experience in Statement of Work (SOW), requirements, and Use-case definition
- Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
- Telecommunications billing data
- Data Modeling
- RDBMS (SQL Server / Oracle Database) concepts
- Relevant work experience with a focus on telecommunication billing system functionality such as Atlas, ICMS, Amdocs etc. and/or data mediation, software application architecture design and configuration and/or e-commerce
