Derek Edwards Chief Executive Officer

Derek Edwards is the Co-Founder and CEO of Globys. Derek has spent the past 16 years building businesses based on data and analytics technology and as a founder, corporate executive, investor, industry leader and entrepreneur, his work has had a profound impact on how companies engage with their customers. Derek has helped to build Globys into a leading provider of big data technology solutions that are deployed to leading companies around the world.

In 1996, Derek co-founded CallVision and as President and CEO successfully grew the business until he sold it to VeriSign, Inc. in 2005. Derek continued to lead the business as a Vice President at VeriSign until 2008 when he led the spinout of Globys from VeriSign.

Derek’s development of new and successful business models, continued leadership around product innovation and commitment to the company’s customers, employees and investors have been credited with playing a key role in Globys’ success.

A true entrepreneur, Derek is a sought-after advisor on finding growth through strategic mergers and acquisitions. Recently he served as strategic advisor to Seattle based GoTime and helped successfully sell the business to the leading data and marketing solutions provider InfoGroup.

Derek is based in Seattle, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington, School of Business.

Mark Sten Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development

Mark Sten is the Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at Globys, responsible for developing global partnerships and initiatives for the company. A long-time technology, communications and media executive, Mark brings more than 20 years of experience to the team.

Mark has a successful track record of entrepreneurship and leadership with early-stage business and large multi-national corporations. Since the founding of Globys, he has been instrumental to the company doubling its revenues, growing its global employee base and adding some of the world’s largest companies to the Globys client list.

In his entrepreneurial ventures, Mark has successfully co-founded companies, secured financing and commercialized new products and services. Prior to joining Globys, he served as Vice President Strategy, Product Marketing and Sales for VeriSign, which Globys spun off of in 2008. He also served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development for CallVision.

In previous years, Mark was co-founder of Altus Alliance, President of Light Green Company, and co-founder of The Hartman Group, which was acquired by the global advertising agency DDB. He successfully led teams that launched, initiated and managed products in the areas of high-tech software and media.

Mark holds a BA in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a MA/ABD from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of CA.

Mark is based in Seattle where he interfaces on a regular basis with leading technology and media companies, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

Duane Edwards Senior Vice President of Product Development

Duane Edwards is the Co-founder and Senior Vice President of Product Development at Globys, focused on expanding the company’s products and services for companies around the world. Duane is a software industry veteran with more than 15 years of experience in designing, developing and marketing high-tech software through companies he has founded.

Most recently, Duane has been responsible for the launch of Globys’ contextual marketing platform, which leverages Globys’ expertise in data and analytics to help marketers influence behaviors to drive revenues, increase retention, and improve the customer experience.

Prior to Globys, Duane was Director of Product Management for the Self Care & Analytics product line at VeriSign, where he led the expansion of the self-service product suite for small business and consumer markets. His role at VeriSign was the result of his sale of CallVision to VeriSign in 2006, where Duane was Co-founder and Chief Designer and Technical Leader.

In previous years, Duane co-founded Globe-1 (sold to Onvia.com in 2000) and Panther Software, where he led product design and development for each company respectively.

A Seattle native, Duane is currently based in France. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Washington.

Chek Lim Senior Vice President of Engineering

Chek Lim is the Senior Vice President of Engineering for Globys, where he manages a global team responsible for the design and development of Globys’ full product suite. Chek has more than 15 years of experience in software and technology development, with specialized expertise in SaaS-based design, mobile client/web and high-volume transactional platforms designed for mass audiences.

Additionally, he has extensive experience in computer modeling and design. Prior to Globys, Chek served as Senior Vice President of Engineering for Motricity, a mobile software services (SaaS) provider based in Bellevue, WA. In this role, Chek led the company’s R&D team, including software architects, developers, QA, functional analysts, and program managers that developed and supported carrier and enterprise products in North America, Europe, and APAC.

Prior to Motricity, Chek served as Senior Director of Mobile Product Engineering for InfoSpace Inc., where he was responsible for the development of mobile WAP portal and storefront for leading wireless carriers to deliver mobile content to end-users.

Based in Seattle, Chek is a graduate of the University of Washington, where he earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer-Aided Design.

Dr. Olly Downs Senior Vice President of Data Sciences

As Senior Vice President of Data Sciences at Globys, Dr. Olly Downs is responsible for the analytics strategy, technical approach and algorithm design and development for Globys’ contextual marketing technology platform.

Olly is a machine learning scientist and serial technology entrepreneur, credited with bringing advanced analytics and machine learning methods to bear as the creative spark behind numerous early-stage technology companies.

Olly specializes in applying abstract analytical ideas from mathematical, physical and statistical science to problems in the real world and commercializing them into significant businesses. He has recently served as Chief Scientist at Atigeo, Chief Scientist at Mindset Media (sold to Meebo, February 2011) and Director of Research at Pelago (sold to GroupOn, April 2011). As Principal Scientist at INRIX, the first technology spin-out from Microsoft Research, Olly delivered a world-first in the provision of real-time traffic information using a nationwide network of GPS-enabled probe vehicles.

Based in Seattle, Olly holds Ph.D. and MA degrees in Applied & Computational Mathematics from Princeton University, and BA, MA and MSci degrees in Experimental & Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge, UK.

Glenn Pingul Vice President of Products & Mobile Strategies

Glenn Pingul is the Vice President of Products and Mobile Strategies at Globys, focused on delivering innovative and data-driven digital marketing solutions to companies around the world.

As a strategic marketer with a passion for bringing to market new products, technologies and ways of connecting with consumers, Glenn is currently leveraging his digital media expertise to help marketers around the world discover the benefits of applying big data analytics to marketing.

Whether launching new solutions for entrepreneurial companies like Globys and Mixpo, introducing high impact customer segmentation and loyalty programs at industry leading companies like T-Mobile, Nordstrom and American Express Gold, or as part of a skunk works team that developed the e-commerce plans for Starbucks, Glenn continues to challenge himself and fellow marketers to think beyond traditional approaches and bring the value of marketing technologies to light.

Craig Baughn Vice President of Client Services

Craig Baughn is the Vice President of Client Services for Globys, where he leads a global team focused on providing value to Globys’ clients by offering superior customer service, including delivery, support and operations management, and professional services. Craig has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, with specialized expertise in client relationship management, software design and engineering, cloud computing and high-volume transactional platforms designed for global customers.

Prior to Globys, Craig served as Vice President of Global Hosting Operations for Concur, a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) provider based in Redmond, WA. In this role, Craig was responsible for the Service Level Management and Infrastructure Services, including application support, monitoring and systems engineering, and network configuration for a suite of SaaS product offerings to over 10,000 global clients located in over 75 countries worldwide.

Prior to Concur, Craig was Vice President of Enterprise Services for Safeco, a Fortune 500 Financial Services company located in Seattle, WA. Craig led a staff of over 300 IT professionals, whose responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of software engineering and technology delivery and support for the property and casualty sales, service and claims functions as well as all corporate enterprise functions.

Based in Seattle, Craig is a graduate of the University of Washington, where he earned a B.A. in Quantitative Methods.

Lara Albert Vice President of Global Marketing

As Vice President of Global Marketing, Lara Albert is responsible for building awareness and driving demand for Globys solutions and driving the company’s go to market strategy for new products.

Lara hails from the world of marketing with 15 years of experience launching and promoting world class products on a global scale. Lara’s passion is in helping companies achieve profitable growth by building brands and bringing to market new products that help reshape the competitive landscape. She thrives on identifying new and emerging market needs and uniquely positioning products in ways that drive real customer value and competitive differentiation. She has led brand management at companies such as Kraft Foods and America Online, and more recently led product marketing and strategy for VeriSign’s Billing and Commerce group.

Lara is considered a thought leader with regard to mobile marketing, and is frequently quoted in leading industry media outlets, including Mobile Marketer, RCR Wireless, Mobile Commerce Daily, Billing and OSS World, and Mobile Marketing Magazine. Lara is a sought-after speaker on the topics of customer experience, personalization and contextual marketing.

Based on the East coast, Lara holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Marketing from the University of Georgia and a MBA from Vanderbilt University.

JRynn

John Rynn Vice President of Product, Reporting & Analytics

As Vice President of Product for Globys Reporting & Analytics, John is responsible for driving product evolution for our telecom and banking customers. John also leads the Sales Engineering team, linking the product capabilities and requirements with our ongoing sales efforts.

John has over 23 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industry, with specialized expertise in telecom billing, BSS/OSS software and platforms. Prior to Globys, John was responsible for client delivery and product management for Reporting & Analytics at VeriSign, following VeriSign’s acquisition of CallVision, where he served as Vice President, Canadian region. Prior to CallVision, John was Vice President, Industry Vertical Marketing at CGI, an end-to-end IT services and consulting firm. He oversaw marketing for telecommunications and energy and utilities, and was actively engaged in large projects and integration of new businesses into CGI.

Based in Burlington, Ontario, John holds a bachelor of applied science in civil engineering from the University of Toronto, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
